Sustainability

In accordance with the National House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), CHSA conducts assessments and provides energy ratings for apartments, new homes, and extensions. We offer options to the six-star energy rating requirements, and we create sustainable solutions for existing homes as well as pre-purchase sustainability audits for mandatory disclosure.

NatHERS Energy Ratings for new homes apartments and extensions

NatHERS Energy Ratings for new homes, apartments, and extensions:

Sustainability for your new house is easier than you think. Whether you’re building a new home or planning to renovate your old house, our team can deliver optimal solutions to the six-star energy rating requirements using the FirstRate5 methodology, and if a six-star energy rating requirement is not feasible for your home, fret not because we’re also offering alternative solutions for a naturally comfortable home.

ESD reports incl BESS STORM assessments

ESD reports (incl. BESS & STORM assessments):

Preparing to apply for a planning permit? CHSA also conducts ESD reports using the Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS) and STORM Assessments as basis for the report to ensure your building meets the sustainability information requirements.

The BESS evaluates energy and water efficiency, thermal comfort, and overall environmental sustainability performance of your new building or alteration. Meanwhile, the Melbourne water STORM calculator is used to determine the impact of the proposed design on stormwater run-off.

Home Sustainability Assessments

Planning to become greener in your household but don’t know where to start? Give us a call and trust our team to conduct a home audit inspection. As soon as we identify the problem, expect a detailed written report indicating options and sustainable solutions for the improvement in the performance of your house.

If you’re going green and having second thoughts about buying a new house, CHSA can offer immediate help. Prior to purchase, our team can assess the existing conditions and potential of your future home and determine the Energy Rating performance for the projected heating and cooling load. Once finished, our team will provide a detailed report showing the current energy rating, and new opportunities for improvements to maximize the sustainability and energy efficiency of your future home.
